Management of Change at Aerodromes
Most safety events linked to change do not happen because a rule was missing — they happen because a change was underestimated.
Small adjustments, temporary solutions, or “minor” deviations often evolve into complex operational risks when they are not assessed, coordinated, and monitored properly. This course is designed to address exactly that gap.
Change is part of everyday life at an aerodrome.
Runway works, new procedures, maintenance activities, organisational adjustments, temporary deviations, or unexpected events all place pressure on operations and introduce new risk.
The Management of Change at Aerodromes course focuses on how these changes actually unfold in practice and how they can be managed as a structured, proportionate, and operationally realistic process — not as a paper exercise.
Participants work through real operational scenarios to understand how changes should be identified, classified, assessed, approved, and monitored, while maintaining safety, compliance, and operational continuity. The emphasis is on making sound decisions under real-world constraints, rather than simply demonstrating regulatory compliance.
Management of Change is a formal requirement under EASA, ICAO, and national frameworks. However, practical guidance is often limited. This course bridges that gap by translating regulatory expectations into clear processes, practical tools, and effective interfaces with the Competent Authority.
Learning is built around realistic examples, case studies, and discussion, allowing participants to reflect on their own operational environment and challenges. The course follows the full lifecycle of change — from recognising and classifying changes, to assessing safety and compliance impacts, managing approvals, and monitoring performance during implementation.
By the end of the course, participants will not only understand what is required, but also how to apply Management of Change confidently and effectively, even in complex or time-critical situations.
