Advanced Aerodrome Auditing for Lead Auditors
Auditing is not only about verifying compliance — it is about understanding systems, assessing risk, and exercising professional judgement. For lead auditors, this requires advanced skills in communication, evidence gathering, and managing complex audit environments.
This 3-day advanced training course is designed for experienced auditors who lead audits under EU Regulation 139/2014, as well as other regulatory and organisational frameworks. The course supports lead auditors in strengthening their role throughout the entire audit lifecycle, from preparation and execution to evaluation of findings and follow-up actions.
A central element of the course is the PEACE model of investigative interviewing. Originally developed in the UK for criminal investigations, the PEACE model is widely used by organisations worldwide for auditing, compliance, and investigative purposes. In this course, the model is adapted to the audit environment, offering a structured, ethical, and highly effective approach to communication and evidence collection.
The PEACE model equips auditors with transferable auditing skills that extend beyond the requirements of Regulation 139/2014. These skills support auditors in navigating challenging or uncooperative situations, maintaining objectivity, and gathering reliable evidence — competencies that remain valuable across different regulatory frameworks, organisations, and audit contexts.
The extended three-day format allows participants to move beyond theory and engage deeply with the auditing process through practical exercises, role-playing scenarios, and facilitated workshops. Participants will work on real-world audit challenges, refine their professional judgement, and strengthen their ability to lead audits with confidence and consistency.
This course is suitable for auditors conducting internal, external, or oversight audits, particularly within aerodrome environments, and for professionals seeking to enhance advanced auditing competencies that can be applied across sectors.
