Introduction to EASA and EU Regulations for Aerodromes
There are many rules and requirements for aerodromes on a European level. Sometimes it can be challenging to navigate through them and to understand the context and impact of each different rule type. This course will help you to get a grip of the EU/EASA requirements for aerodromes.
The rules and requirements are mainly included in the Basic Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 (Essential Requirements, ER) and Regulation (EU) No. 139/2014 (Implementing Rules, IR, within the Annexes of this regulation). Besides that, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) publishes Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC), Certification Specification (CS) and Guidance Material (GM) to provide further details for the implementation of the requirements and the demonstration of compliance.
This 2-day training course will provide participants with a working knowledge of European Law, and EASA’s structure, activities and rulemaking process. It will also cover, specifically: Aerodrome requirements for Authorities (Part-ADR.AR), Organisation (Part-ADR.OR) and Operations (Part-ADR.OPS) as well as Certification Specifications for Aerodrome Design (CS-ADR-DSN). Moreover, the handling of deviations through flexibility tools (SC, ELOS, DAAD) will be highlighted.
Participants will learn how to navigate through the key requirements and to understand their impact for aerodrome operators and competent authorities.
Within 2 days, you will be introduced to the key requirements and structure of the Basic Regulation (EU) 2018/1139, Regulation (EU) No. 139/2014 and its Implementing Rules (IR) as well as Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Material (GM). Amongst others, this includes EU/EASA requirements for the aerodrome management (e.g. a summary of safety management system (SMS) and compliance monitoring requirements). On completion of the course, participants will be able to navigate their way through the EU/EASA requirements for aerodromes and contribute effective interpretations to their own business and in the workplace.
