European legislation requires aerodrome operators to adopt a Management System that integrates a Safety Management System. A profound knowledge of the elements of the SMS is therefore the starting point for ensuring its integration into airport processes and procedures.

The Safety policy, objectives, safety performance indicators, hazard identification and risk assessments are all elements that must be structured and harmonised to ensure effectiveness as well as regulatory compliance. Based on airsight’s international experience in the field of SMS auditing, the course focuses on the key points of SMS operation and the critical issues that are routinely encountered.

The 4-day course presents all the key elements of the SMS from a practical and implementation-oriented point of view, referring to international best practices. The course content is based on international requirements but can also be customised to its audience, location, and applicable regulatory framework.

Case studies, exercises and examples are an integral part of the course to stimulate participants to a constructive discussion on the challenge of implementing an effective SMS integrated into the Management System.
