As Aviation recovers from the global pandemic, Airports are in a race to recruit new personnel, retrain and update existing members as global traffic increases rapidly. This is exposing the industry to new threats that leave it and its teams exposed to increased risk that can be highly costly both financially and to damage or harm. Trainer

Dipl-Ing. Johann Reuß

Retired civil aviation accident and safety investigator with 37 years of experience as an Investigator in Charge (IIC), Accredited Representative (AccRep) and Adviser, including 5 years as Director of the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU). Demonstrated history of working in aviation safety and air accident investigation at National, European and International level. Effective communicator, able to familiarize himself with different organizational structures and to Standards and Recommendations of ICAO as well as European Regulations.

Extensive experience as an instructor in accident, serious incident and incident investigation methods in civil aviation for both safety staff in authorities and other aviation stakeholders, such as airports, airlines and aircraft manufacturers.

Current focus of activities in aviation safety work is in the proactive area. This involves the assessment and documentation of risks as well as practical aspects of establishing safety management systems (SMS), including the preparation of information and data for the ECCAIRS and ADREP database systems required by the regulators.

Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. The accommodation and travel costs are at the charge of the participants. Please note that airsight does not perform any travel and hotel bookings for the participants. Rooms can however be booked directly by the participants by contacting the hotel. We would like to point out that from January 2025 a City Tax of 7.5% will be imposed on overnight stays for business and professional purposes in Berlin.

Organisational Details

The course hours are scheduled as follows:

first training day:  10:00 am - 5:00 pm
last training day:    8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Coffee breaks and business lunch are included in the course fee. At the end of the course, all participants will receive an airsight certificate based on EASA training regulations, which is highly recognised throughout the aviation industry.
