Passenger Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is a soaring and dynamic market. Forecasts predict more than 160,000 commercial passenger drones to be in operation by 2050, a vast increase compared to approximately 25,000 passenger aircraft today.

The implementation of vertiports as the vital interface between urban air mobility and other means of public transportation carries a multitude of questions and challenges, in particular in the area of physical ground infrastructure requirements.

This 2-day course provides attendants with a comprehensive overview of the fast-growing market of eVTOL aircraft and the layout vertiports.

Participants will become familiar with eVTOL aircraft types as well as their characteristics and learn how to configure, dimension, and design the fundamental infrastructural elements of vertiports, including elements such as final approach and take-off area (FATO), touchdown and lift-off area (TLOF), taxiways and stands as well as visual aids (markings, lights and signs). Furthermore, additional considerations like obstacle restriction and noise assessment will be discussed.

This training targets all experts involved in vertiport planning or operations, including authorities, engineers and architects.
