Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT) Software Training

airsight has used the FAA's Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT) very frequently in the past while working on projects related to aircraft noise calculations and environmental protection issues at airports.  

We have gained extensive experience in dealing with the complex software and offer customized software training for AEDT within the framework of in-house training (also virtual), taking into account exclusively the requirements and specific questions of our clients. 

The syllabus and course structure is very flexible and comprises instructor-led presentations and exercises using the clients AEDT version. The participants will create own studies and the instructor leads stepwise through the study creation process incl. troubleshooting. 

Participants benefit from the instructor's knowledge transfer, in which they receive useful tips, workflows and strategies to solve challenging tasks using AEDT. 

Please note: In order to participate at the software training, you will need a valid, licensed and ready-to-run version of AEDT (most recent version). If you have questions during installation, do not hesitate to contact us!

Trainer

Christoph Strümpfel, M.Sc.

Christoph is an expert for sustainable aviation within airsight’s consulting division. He is responsible for all training courses related to sustainable aviation and environmental protection around airports, sharing his knowledge and practical experience with other national and international aviation experts. 

After graduating as Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Technical University of Berlin, he worked as a research assistant and lecturer at the Chair of Flight Guidance and Air Traffic at the TU Berlin. In his scientific career, Christoph focused on modeling aircraft noise and emissions, UAS/eVTOL noise calculation and optimization of flight procedures with respect to environmental targets. For airsight he has conducted several environmental assessments and case studies such as Berlin, Leipzig, Luxembourg, Malta and Dubai. 

As a member of the Aircraft Noise Commission at Berlin-Tegel Airport, Christoph was responsible for the conduction of field studies about continuous descent operations and noise abatement departure procedures with respect to aircraft noise modeling and monitoring. Since focusing on aircraft noise and emission modeling in his career, Christoph collected broad experience with the FAA’s Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT).

Technical Requirements

To access our live training course you will simply need:  

  • a computer (PC or Mac), tablet (iPad or Android) or a similar device with a webcam and microphone 
  • Internet connection.

Detailed instructions (incl. link for the virtual classroom audience) together with digital training materials will be sent to attendees before commencement of the course (in general one week before course start)! 

The airsight team is at your disposal to facilitate your personal virtual classroom experience and support you with setting up and testing your system.
